Despite Satchitananda having to go to A&E on the morning of the retreat, she selflessly urged us all to go carry on. We gathered for worship, and were so relieved when she returned later in the afternoon. It turned into a beautiful time of music, readings, prayers, and together-ness.

Notes: on meditation
‘We are all the thought of God. As soon as it’s withdrawn you cannot exist. Let belief merge in faith, let faith grab the form of the formless. What makes you run away from God is when you can’t put love into practice.
‘Accept what God is trying to tell you through your mind, Recognise His workers, appreciate instead
of despising.
‘Closeliness to God is the secret of everything – music, work, consciousness – the skeleton key. Unite the inner with the outer consciousness and you don’t have to know anything – everything will be
known that is your concern.
‘God is the object which enters your thought to find yourself again. Thus the two merge into one.
One community, one group. There Christ is, with or without church. So be Christed, and know that
‘’Christed” means anointed. The body itself is a temple. He who doesn’t find God within will have
difficulty in finding God in church or temple, in rite or ritual.
‘First, purify yourself. Means of purifying yourself are: love, repentance, working to nullify bad
condition, mercy and charity. Then meditation. Be aware of your object of meditation and nothing else. The pure in heart realize God in their practical meditation.

What is practical meditation? The building of what you perceive, following the vision to certain
places. But how will you perceive what you are seeing? It takes a light to recognize a light. The flame of godliness is hidden in the chakras of worldliness: eat, drink, make merry. God is hidden in the muladhara.
When there is darkness in your meditation, then the Father/Mother God says, “Let there be light.” See Mother as Light. Visualise that light moving up your spine. The darkness of meditation receives a pinpoint of it in the heart. But not till it enters your heart from the centre of the navel [manipura] will
the heart be illumined. And when lightning strikes in the heart all the nerves will be fused, you will be
under the spell of this light. You will have been dehypnotized, two eyes closed, single eye opened.
That light spreads, becomes blue flame. That flame becomes steady and you float on an ocean of bliss when flame materializes into shape. When still, that ocean of mind reflects constellations of stars.
Drifting with the water you can’t sink – that’s detachment, trance, surrender, withdrawal.
‘I give you the frame, you can put in it the picture of your choice. ‘The holy man is pregnancy of the Divine Mother. The Word became flesh and permeated as ether.
The flame takes shape, becomes a shadow, the shadow takes form and becomes the Being.
‘[There is] an island of gems under the heart. That’s where the Wish-fulfilling Tree is. If you meditate there you get what you want – realization! Let your heart become your eyes, and have the feeling of love.

‘If God dwells in the heart, that ‘pouch’ is greater than anything because everything is there. Just look at a picture of the Heart of Christ where Christ points to His heart. When you enter that heart you
